Think About It
by Pastor David

"I can do everything through him who gives me strength." Philippians 4:13 (NIV)

It's been a crazy year with themes claiming you can do everything. You can fight hunger, you can be a witness, you can obey God's commandments, you can love, and you can tear down walls. I wonder if you're tired of hearing everything you can do. I think it would be normal to think that way. Most people say that you can do anything you want, but the reality is very different. It takes real determination and motivation to do things that are hard, but the Bible tells us a different way. The Bible tells us that our strength comes from Christ, not from determination or motivation. Our determination and motivation should be focused on following Jesus - his power will get us through the difficult things in life.

This is our last month of CORE until fall, and the summer will be filled with fun and excitement, but it can also be a time of falling away from Christ. I hope you set your heart on following Christ this summer and work on growing closer to Him. Imagine how great it would be to return to CORE in the fall with new growth and faith, rather than starting back at ground zero. You can do it! I will be here to help, and I'm sure your small group leaders will be available at times to help you too. Stay connected to one another and stay connected to Christ who strengthens you.

Think About It.  david
