Think About It...
.

Blessed are those who trust in the LORD …They shall be like a tree planted by water,
sending out its roots by the stream.” Jeremiah 17:7,8

The growing season is here! Spring is a wonderful time to live in Northern Michigan-everything turns from death to life. I bet it’s hard to pay attention in school when everything God created seems to be calling you outside. Of course, you all know that plants need water, sunlight, and nutrients to grow properly, but have you ever thought about what a person needs to grow spiritually? We’ve talked about the four areas that are important, and they are Prayer, Bible Study, Fellowship, and Mission. I’d like to go a little deeper and talk about your conscience. Your conscience is where spiritual growth happens. It’s where you feel love and experience guilt, and it’s what drives you to become a better person. The scripture at the top says that if you “trust in the LORD, you will be like a tree planted by water, sending out its roots by the stream.” In order to handle the heat and droughts of life, you need deep, strong roots to get you through tough times. Those roots grow according to how they are watered. If you fill your mind with harmful things, your conscience will become numb, and you won’t grow strong roots. If you water your conscience with good things and good thoughts, you will grow strong and be able to handle the rough times of life. Listen to your inner self and see what you need to grow into the person you can respect. God also sees your inner self and wants to help you grow into the person He created you to be. Trust Him. Think About it!
