SHAWL KNITTERS MINISTRY. The group is cutting back to one gathering for the month of August.  Join us on Aug. 9th, from 10:00am-1:00pm.
Our purpose is to provide prayer shawls to anyone in need of a tangible expression of our congregation's support, love, and prayers during a difficult time. Our prayer is that as an individual wraps up in one of our shawls, he or she will experience God's presence and healing power at work. There are many prayers knitted into every shawl. When we meet as a group, we bless the completed shawls and pray for all those who will be receiving them, even though we don't know names most of the time.
We begin knitting at 10:00am and break to eat our own bag lunches around noon, then resume knitting until 2:00pm. You are welcom to come for all or any part of the time. If you are a novice knitter, there are folks in the group who can help you.  (NOTE:  September-June we meet the 2nd & 4th Mondays.)

THE SEPTEMBER NEWSLETTER DEADLINE is AUGUST 15th. Please submit by that date any articles or special requests for consideration. If you have questions, call the church office, 946-5680..

blood drive

BLOOD DRIVE
BRING HOPE TO LIFE... GIVE BLOOD

WHEN WE THINK OF SUMMER, many things come to mind—beach, boats, dunes, ice cream, time with family and friend—and blood shortages. As busy as we all are in the midst of a Traverse City summer, we need to remember that the need for blood does not take a vacation. Please take some time on August 17 and help save a life.

Please join us at our next drive on Tuesday, August 17, from 2:00-6:00pm, in the church Fellowship Hall. See you there!

THE BROWN BAG GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP meets on the 3rd Monday each month at noon in the Westminster Room.
Thiis group is for anyone who is grieving the loss of a loved one. Grief is a journey and we need companions on the journey -- to listen, to laugh and cry with, to offer support and love and hope. The Brown Bag Grief Support Group is a safe place to share our stories and find strength for the future.
We meet in the Westminster Room. Bring your own lunch. If you have questions, please contact Pastor Becky at 946-5680.

FRIEND TO FRIEND MINISTRY

THE DEACON BOARD FRIEND TO FRIEND CARING MINISTRY is a way to take God’s love and presence to members and friends of our church who are homebound and unable to worship with us regularly. We currently are in need of 5 volunteers to be matched with some awaiting friends.  If you feel called to this ministry or have any questions, please contact Pastor Becky (946-5680) or email: becky@tcpresby.org.  We are always looking for new friends who are caring, compassionate and are good listeners.
