SHAWL KNITTING MINISTRY will meet Monday, May 12, from 10:00am-2:00pm. (NOTE: the church office will be closed on May 26 in observance of Memorial Day.)
Our purpose is to provide prayer shawls to anyone in need of a tangible expression of our congregation's support, love, and prayers during a difficult time. Our prayer is that as an individual wraps up in one of our shawls, he or she will experience God's presence and healing power at work. There are many prayers knitted into every shawl. When we meet as a group, we bless the completed shawls and pray for all those who will be receiving them, even though we don't know names most of the time.
We begin knitting at 10:00am and break to eat our own bag lunches around noon, then resume knitting until 2:00pm. You are welcom to come for all or any part of the time. If you are a novice knitter, there are folks in the group who can help you. |
CHRISMON WORKSHOP -- Would you like to help the children of the church and continue a 25 year tradition? Then, come to a workshop to learn how to make the Chrismon for 2008. We will meet on Wednesday, May 7, between 10:00am-2:00pm in overflow room A. Bring a lunch and at noon there will be a break for those who want it.
No experience is necessary. Once you have mastered this skill, you will be able to take supplies home and work on this project over the summer. This will be the only workshop this year. If you have any questions, call the church office, 946-5680.
