Presbyterian Women of PCUSA

NEW OFFICERS were elected for the Presbyterian Women Board at the annual meeting on May 15. The women were installed on June 6 during worship.

JUNE 30 was the official deadline for receiving 2nd mile gifts; however, if you have not contributed and would like to do so, we would be happy to receive your gift. You may send it to the church office and mark it for 2nd mile giving, or place it in the Presbyterian Women Treasurer's box in the coat room. 2nd mile gifts are used only for mission projects of PW. We appreciate your prayerful consideration in giving a 2nd mile gift.

MANY THANKS to all of you who will work at the Cherry Festival on behalf of PW. The money earned at the Cherry Festival will go towards operating expenses such as program, postage & supplies.

SUMMER is a quiet time for Presbyterian Women, but we would like for you to put 2 dates on your calendar for events coming in September.

FIRST, on Saturday, September 18, we will have a brunch at the church. Our speaker will be Sarah Juntune, from the Bellaire Church, who participated in the PW Global Exchange trip to Eastern Europe
in 2008. Even if you do not regularly attend PW events, this is a good one to attend as Sarah is a great and very enthusiastic speaker.

SECOND, Presbyterian Women in the Presbytery will be holding a Fall Retreat on September 24-26 at Cedar Campus in the Eastern Upper Peninsula. Those from Traverse City,
who attended 2 years ago, found the retreat to be a great event so let’s get some more to attend this year! The theme will be "Living Abundantly, but Simply." More details on both of these events will follow later.

CHURCH WOMEN UNITED:
YOU ARE INVITED to a Concert of Love to honor Pastor Marshall & Mary Collins on Sunday, July 25 at 3:00pm at The Presbyterian Church, 701 Westminster Road, sponsored by Church Women United.
COME ENJOY an afternoon of uplifting inspirational, talented musicians—solos, duets, men’s chorale and a cookie & punch reception following the concert. A freewill offering will be collected with all donations directed to Church Women United.

DORCAS CIRCLE will meet Wednesday, July 21st and Aug. 18th, at 10:00am at the church, in Fellowship Hall.  We bring a sack lunch; ending times vary.
